CHIPOTLE MEXICAN GRILL GROUND UP PROTOTYPE

AO developed a prototype design for ground up stores throughout the country based on an extensive analysis of what is currently being built for other chain restaurants and how it could be better.  Just as we were able to reinvent the ‘fast food’ experience with the interiors, we were able to develop improved approaches to landscape, orientation and approach, parking and drainage for a more suburban model. Designing "pad" restaurants allows us to incorporate sustainable design elements such as green walls, brise soleils, and passive heating, as well as using sustainable and local materials in construction.
